ROWDY RED STIK-WICK
(contributed by Kenny Mims of Rowdy Red Video Productions, Nashville)
Kenny says:
The "STIK-WICK" jib - Yardsale & Home Depot total cost $3
NTSC color output. Plugs directly into the Sony miniDV cams.
I'm thinking of making a break-away connector so we can poke this thing out
the side of the car
and go blasting through the countryside, then when the inevitable happens we
won't ...
1. Break our arm
2. Rip the connector off the miniDVcam.
Video quality is amazing considering the components involved.
NEW! STIK-WICK II
Kenny says:
Introducing........... The
Stik-Wick II "chest plant jib". I haven't installed
the viewfinder yet, and it's raining today so no field
test...but so far-so good! I guess I could use the little built in monitor, but
actually it is a little far away and draws way too much current. I'll have the
real viewfinder done in a few days.
This thing folds up for transport, and can be extended to about 10 feet (so
when you hold it up, the cam will be almost 15 feet in the air). The counter
balance makes it really easy to hold the thing up for a while. BoyHowdy this
thing really looks weird. I'm sure this will keep 'em guessing for quite a
while. Note the off-sets (for balance)
